McLean Man Sentenced To 3 Years In $1.6M In Fraud Scheme: Feds A 33-year-old McLean man was sentenced to three years in prison earlier this month for his role in a five-year scam that bilked more than 1,300 people — mostly elderly — out of $1.6 million, the Department of Justice said.  A court ruled that Bruhaspaty Prasad, 33, worked with scam artists based at a call center in India to steal money from unsuspecting victims, a U.S. Attorney said in a news release.  Their alleged grift is one that anyone online has likely come across in recent years.  In the scam, victims would get an unsolicited phone call or a pop-up window on a website…

Police ID 19-Year-Old Man Shot At Woodbridge Shopping Center A man shot multiple times at a Prince William County shopping center on Tuesday, June 14, has died, police said on Thursday.  David Madison Fowler III, of Woodbridge, and a friend were supposed to meet three men at Cheshire Station Plaza around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Prince William County police. During that meeting, one of those men opened fire and shot Fowler several times in the chest. They then sped away in a light-colored vehicle. Since then, the mom of a 5-year-old son splits her time between Annandale and New York City for treatments, according to a GoFundMe her sister set up to pay for the medical bills and travel expenses. Leesburg Bank Robber Who Blamed Crime On Low Blood Sugar Gets 4 Years In Prison: Report A 66-year-old Virginia who robbed a Leesburg bank last year will spend the next four years in prison, Loudoun Now reported this week.  Kenneth W. Sencindiver pleaded guilty in March to robbing the M&T Bank on East Market Street, the newspaper said. The Winchester man approached a teller at the bank on Nov. 19 and handed her a note, prosecutors said during the trial.  It read: “I am armed; Give me all the money that’s in your drawer; do not put dye packs.
