Lithium Battery Fire Sparks Early Morning Scare At Croton-Harmon Metro-North Yards An early morning fire at the Metro-North Croton-Harmon Yards prompted a quick response from firefighters after smoke was reported inside one of the buildings.  Just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, Croton-on-Hudson firefighters were called to the train yard for reports of smoke inside a building, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Crews arrived and found a confirmed smoke condition and a battery charger on fire.
