Traffic Stop Turns Up Firearm In Denville: Police A 36-year-old Morris County man was arrested and charged with improperly transporting a firearm in Denville on Saturday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 7:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 7-Eleven at 45 W Main St., Denville police said. Officers discovered the driver, Daniel Schmidt, a Mountain Lakes resident, was improperly transporting a firearm, police said. Schmidt was ultimately arrested and transported back to Denville Police headquarters for processing, police said. Carjacking Outside East Orange 7-Eleven: Authorities A strong-arm carjacking occurred at a 7-Eleven in East Orange on Sunday, Jan. 12, authorities said. At 9:36 p.m., an unarmed suspect took the victim's 2023 BMW SUV at the 7-Eleven at 247 Freeway Dr., a spokesperson for the City of East Orange said. This Cherry Hill Guy Just Won $517K Playing Criss Cross Poker At Hard Rock Atlantic City A trip to an Atlantic City casino paid off big time for a Cherry Hill resident on Friday, Jan. 10. The man, identified by the casino as Phong P, won $517,927 playing Criss Cross poker at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
