New Amazon Fresh Store Opens In Arlington A new Amazon Fresh grocery store has opened in Arlington. It's the first location in Arlington County for the chain and is part of the company's push into Northern Virginia. The newest Amazon Fresh opened in Crystal City — 1550 Crystal Drive — on Thursday, July 7. Amazon announced its plans for the location in May. Driver Sped Away After Crashing Into Pedestrian In Alexandria: Police The Fairfax County police are searching for the driver who ran over a pedestrian Wednesday night, July 6, and then drove off. The wreck happened late Wednesday on Route 1 and Huntington Avenue in Alexandria. Police closed that intersection for several hours as they investigated the scene. Fairfax County Detectives Have Solved 'Christmas Tree Lady' Case 25 Years Later For 25 years, Fairfax County police have not given up on solving one of the department's more perplexing cases. Now they have an answer. The Fairfax County Police Department announced on Thursday, July 7, that cold case detectives identified the woman who they have been calling "The Christmas Tree Lady" since they found her body on Dec. 18, 1996. Helicopter Lands On I-395 To Assist Officer, Driver Captures It All Everything is a landing site during an emergency. A medivac pilot proved that on Wednesday, July 6, after they landed a helicopter on Interstate 395 to rescue a police officer. Park police requested the helicopter to rescue a motorcycle officer who'd crashed on Maine Avenue, WJLA said.
