Woman Brandished Knife At Walmart: Secaucus PD A 57-year-old Jersey City woman was arrested and charged after she brandished a knife at a Walmart in Secaucus on the evening of Friday, Dec. 13, authorities said. At 10:59 p.m., officers responded to Walmart at 400 Park Plaza Dr. and found that Josephine Melendez brandished a folding knife and made threats during a verbal altercation, Secaucus police said. Melendez was charged with terroristic threats, multiple weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Driver Found Passed Out With Car Running In Middle Of Road: Denville PD A 45-year-old Morristown man was arrested and charge after he was found passed out inside his vehicle while the car was parked running in the middle of the road in Denville on Sunday, Dec. 15, authorities said. At 7:40 p.m., officers responded to Fox Hill Road where they found Favian Fernandezespinoza passed out, Denville police said. An investigation determined Fernandezespinoza, had consumed alcoholic beverages prior to operating his vehicle, police said. Fernandezespinoza was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving, police said.

Newton Woman Gets Three Years For Dealing LSD: Sussex County Prosecutor A 31-year-old Newton woman was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday, Dec. 13 for distributing LSD, authorities said. Dana Vail had previously pled guilty to the charges after being arrested in January following an investigation, the New Jersey State Police Strategic Investigations Unit, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray, said. Undercover detectives conducted two controlled purchases of approximately 10,000 milligrams of LSD from Vail and during a subsequent search of her residence, police found additional quantities of LSD, Murray said.
