Man Shot On Newark-South Orange Border: Police A man was found shot on the border of Newark and South Orange on the early morning of Thursday, Dec. 5, authorities said. At 1:25 a.m., Newark police responded to Kenmore Avenue near Holland Road in South Orange on a report of shooting and found the man, Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. 18-Year-Old, Two Juveniles Arrested For Fatal Newark Shooting: Police An 18-year-old Newark resident and two juveniles were arrested on Thursday, Dec. 5 for a fatal shooting on Sunday, Dec. 1, authorities  said. Wes Thalerand, an 18-year-old Elizabeth resident, was shot and killed while seated in his vehicle at the intersection of Mapes Terrace and Huntington Terrace, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. Zaire Kelly and the two juveniles were charged with murder in the first degree, felony murder, robbery and weapons offenses, Stephens and Miranda said.
