Kia Cracks Utility Pole, Bursts Into Flames After Hitting Icy Patch In Manchester: Cops A vehicle crashed into a utility pole and burst into flames on Route 530 in Manchester on the evening of Monday, Jan. 6, authorities said. At 9:42 p.m., officers responded to the area of Route 530 between Cherry Street and Locust Street, after a car struck the pole, Manchester police said. Newark Man Arrested For Liquor Store Break-In: Franklin Borough Police A 36-year-old Newark man was recently arrested for breaking into a Sussex County liquor store and taking alcohol, police said. Angel Soler used a tool to break the glass sliding door of Right Bottle at Sterling Plaza, Franklin Borough police said. Soler gained entry to the cash register, removed bottles of alcohol and a tablet belong to the store, police said. Soler was charged burglary, theft of movable property, and criminal mischief, police said. He was also arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges, police said.

Woman, Two Dogs Rescued After Being Submerged In Water: Gloucester PD A woman and her two dogs were rescued after they became trapped in partially frozen water in Camden County on Sunday, Jan. 5, authorities said. Matawan Man Sentenced For Hidden Bathroom Recordings, Distributing Child Porn: Prosecutor A 59-year-old Matawan man was sentenced to nine years in state prison on Friday, Jan. 3, for recording women, including a 16-year-old girl using the bathroom at a residence in Brick Township, authorities said. Michael Mattina secretly recorded six female victims, including one 16 year-old victim, utilizing a hidden camera located in the bathroom of a residence in Brick Township.
